The Clangers The Clangers lived on a faraway planet, which strangely resembled the moon. They used to go about their everyday lives as you and me would, except they communicated through high-pitched whistles, which many people try to imitate even today. They lived down holes which were covered by bin lids, which used to make a clanging noise as they put them down, hence the name the Clangers. There was a whole family of Clangers, and characters included Tiny Clanger, Little Clanger, Master Clanger and Grandma Clanger and also the Soup Dragon, who they would collect soup off. The Clangers was a result of the duo of Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, who were also responsible for Pogle's wood and Ivor the Engine.
