Henry's Cat
Made between 1982 and 1983, by Bob Godfrey. This cartoon followed the adventures of ' Henry's cat '
and his friends, including Christopher rabbit, Douglas the dog and the local policeman. A lot of his adventures were actually mere daydreams and he would wake up at the end of them and eat cake, his favourite food. The programme had many catchy theme tunes throughout its run, such as " You must have read the movie, you must have read the book. He's a yellow yellow feline, so take a second look. He knows everything about nothing and not too much about that. So If you know someone that knows what he knows then you must know Henry's cat."
It was never revealed who Henry was, or indeed what ' Henry's cat's ' name was. The title has caused me much curiousity over the years. Why call him Henry's cat when Henry was never in the programme? Why not just give him a name and call it that? Like Heathcliff or Garfield. Anyway, this programme was repeated throughout the 1980s on CBBC, and is now available on video from HMV stores across the UK as well as another video featuring songs from the programme.
It was quite funny at times, and is certainly remembered as a good cartoon of the 1980s.
