Jimbo and the Jet-Set

The Control Tower Jimbo, landing Jimbo, re-fuellingJimbo, flying Jimbo, on the runway Jimbo, next to the scale

I believe Jimbo (and the sodding Jet-Set) was shown on TV between the years of 1988 and 1991. It was shown on CBBC in the days when Gordon the Gopher and Philip Schofield ruled supreme. Each episode lasted only five minutes, was set at "London Airport" (not Heathrow or Gatwick, thank God) and basically concerned the "life" of a small fat plane named Jimbo. I believe he fancied a female plane and did silly things to try and impress her. He was given orders of where to go and where to land, by the moody controller standing in his control tower. Jimbo often missed the runway and smashed through the control tower, including in the opening themes, if I remember correctly. The theme tune song consisted entirely of the word "Jimbo" which was yelled out about fifty times. Anyway, I can't remember much more, except that this cartoon hasn't been repeated very much at all, especially considering that it was a firm favourite of so many children.
